The management of the Slovenian RTV broadcaster on Saturday strongly condemned the behaviour of protesting COVID deniers and anti-vaxxers who stormed the headquarters of this national broadcasting service on Friday evening.
“A group of coronavirus deniers and anti-vaccination protesters stormed the headquarters of the Slovenian public broadcaster last night, managing to get into the newsroom studio before the police intervened, the RTV Slovenia reported on Saturday.
It underscores that this act was the abuse of the right of peaceful assembly.
“We expect the relevant institutions to take decisive steps and prevent recurrence of such incidents,” says the Slovenian public broadcaster.
Protesting anti-vaxxers have been rallying for months outside the RTV Slovenija HQ, and have been hurling insults at employees and guests coming to this institution.
“We respect the right to expression, however, we advocate a decent way of communication,” the management says in the press release.
On Friday evening, those protesters stormed the building and broke into the editorial rooms.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Janez Jansa also condemned last night’s incident.
