The government's foundation "Croatia for Children" has donated HRK 350,000 to the City of Petrinja for the purchase and equipment of four containers in the Sajmište container settlement, where children, young people and their parents will be provided with psychosocial support.

The four containers will house a centre that will provide the necessary expert support for the children from the area of Petrinja who are suffering serious psychological consequences due to the trauma they experienced during the devastating earthuake in Banovina in late December 2020.

Workshops and group activities will also be organised in the centre.

The agreement on direct allocation of funds was signed at the headquarters of the national task force in charge of removing the consequences of the earthquake by Petrinja Mayor Magdalena Komes and foundation manager Renata Gubic.

The youngest suffered serious hardships during the earthquake, Gubic said.

Mayor Komes thanked for the donation, underscoring that it would mean a lot to traumatised children, and with help from UNICEF and the Red Cross the contents would be enriched further.
