Five bars and three parked cars were damaged in Zagreb on Tuesday night in riots and a clash between supporters of the Dinamo Zagreb and Legia Warsaw football clubs, police said on Wednesday, adding that no one was injured and that police used force to fight off the supporters.

About 400 supporters took part in the clash, 300 of Dinamo and 100 of Legia.

Police said a fight broke out between them around 9.30 pm in the Dubrava neighbourhood, adding that officers used force to stop the supporters from directly attacking them but that no one was injured in the process.

According to available information, no one has been injured in the fighting between the supporters either.

Police said one of the three damaged cars had German licence plates.

Legia supporters left Croatia under police escort and a criminal investigation is under way.

Dinamo and Legia are playing at Zagreb’s Maksimir Stadium at 8 pm today.
