Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandorkovic on Sunday issued separate messages offering their best wishes to the Jewish faithful for the holiday of Hanukkah.

“May the Festival of Lights, which celebrates victory of light over darkness, bring you an abundance of peace and hope and the flames of the hanukkiah light up your homes with warmth, joy and togetherness with family and friends. Happy Hanukkah. Chag Hanukkah Sameach!” Plenkovic said in his message.

“May this holiday of light and dedication, which celebrates the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem, light up your homes and fill them with warmth, hope and renewed union,” Jandrokovic said in his message.

Stressing the importance of solidarity and understanding among people in the current pandemic, Jandrokovic said: “May you spend Hanukkah in prosperity, peace and joy, health and love, surrounded by your loved ones. Happy Hanukkah. Chag Hanukkah Sameach!” Janrokovic said.
