Croatia’s Jan-Apr 2021 exports total €5.5bn

In the first four months of 2021, Croatia's export of goods totalled 41.6 billion kuna, jumping by 19.9 percent on the year, while import rose 13.5 percent to 64.2 billion kuna, the national statistical office said on Wednesday.

The foreign trade deficit in said period increased 3.4 percent to 22.7 billion kuna on the year, while the coverage of import by export was 64.7 percent.

The export of goods to the EU totalled 27.9 billion kuna, up 17.3 percent on the year, while export to other countries soared 25.7 percent to 13.6 billion kuna.

The import of goods from the EU rose 11.4 percent to 50.4 billion kuna, while import from other countries jumped 22 percent to 13.8 billion kuna.

Expressed in euros, Croatia’s goods export totalled €5.5 billion, up 18.6 percent from the first four months of 2020, while import went up 12.3 percent to €8.49 billion.

The foreign trade deficit was three billion euros.
