Croatia’s average salary reaches €949 in August

The average net salary in Croatia in August 2021 was 7,118 kuna (€949), or 5.9 percent up higher in nominal terms and 2.7 percent up in real terms compared to August 2020, state agency Hina reported, citing latest figures released by the state statistics bureau on Wednesday.

Neither Hina nor the statistics bureau listed any reasons for the rise in salaries.

By industry, the highest average salary was paid in oil and natural gas extraction, 11,140 kuna (€1,485) and the lowest was in clothes manufacturing, at 4,351 kuna (€580). The median net pay in August was 6,014 kuna (€802).

The average gross salary in August was 9,611 kuna (€1,281) a nominal increase of 4.6 percent and a real term increase of 1.5 percent compared to August 2020.

The average net hourly wage in August was 39.94 kuna (€5.32) and the gross hourly wage was 59.93 kuna (€7.99).
