The Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) and the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at improving the expertise and professional development of Macedonian brokers through seminars at the ZSE Academy, the ZSE said on Friday.

Participants from North Macedonia will have the opportunity to attend seminars on various topics related to capital market, such as portfolio management, use of financial statements, investor relations, regulatory framework of capital market under EU regulations, risk management, corporate governance and others, the ZSE said.

President of the ZSE Management Board, Ivana Gazic, said that the ZSE Academy would soon celebrate its 11th anniversary, and that more than 10,000 individuals have attended various worshops and seminars during that period.

“Today, the Academy is the largest provider of educational services in the field of finance in Croatia and in the region, and we will be pleased to share our knowledge with colleagues from North Macedonia. Considering our long-term cooperation in various fields, we can once again thank the Macedonian Stock Exchange for the trust and we believe that this Agreement establishes long-term and fruitful cooperation in the field of education,” Gazic said.

The CEO of the Skopje-based MSE, Ivan Steriev, said that by signing the agreement, the stock exchange achieved two goals at the same time – it “enriched opportunities for educating interested domestic entities about the overall functioning of the capital market and also deepened strategic cooperation with the Zagreb Stock Exchange.”

“More know-how in the capital market is an essential need for many, from those who work or want to work in the industry, to investors who need more knowledge to make more informed decisions, and finally know-how to the issuers of securities. Through the increasingly present model of on-line education, and as a result of the partnership between our institutions, I expect that we will offer the very first such training programs to Macedonians soon” Steriev said.
