Two Croatian Air Force Canadair CL-415 planes are engaged in helping fight a wildfire northeast of the city of Tomislavgrad in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the second day in a row, Croatian state agency Hina reported on Monday, citing a press release from the Ministry of Defence.

On Sunday, the Canadair planes made 69 flights lasting 7 hours and 15 minutes while putting out a fire at the Grabovica-Tomislavgrad site. A total of 396 tonnes of water have been dropped on the wildfire.

The Municipality of Tomislavgrad again sent a request to Croatian authorities on Monday for a Canadair plane, since firefighters on the ground are powerless against a wildfire which is threatening 800 residential homes.

Croatian Canadair planes managed to extinguish the fire yesterday afternoon, but the wind re-activated the fire it during the night, Hina said.
