Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and President of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) Carmel Agius met in Zagreb on Monday for the talks on the work of the IRMCT, the government's public relations office said in a press release.

The talks focused on the need to continue investigate and prosecute war crimes. Plenkovic said that prosecution of war crimes and full cooperation with the IRMCT was an important criterion for Southeast European countries that want to join the European Union.

in the context of missing persons, the two officials underscored the need to continue cooperation with neighbouring countries so as to bring all perpetrators to justice, namely to find all persons who went missing during the 1990s Homeland War.

Also discussed was an initiative to set up information centres which would enable availability of public information and IRMCT archives in the region, the statement read.
