Coronavirus: Slovenia’s caseloads keep falling

In the last 24 hours Slovenian authorities have reported 1,847 new Covid-19 cases, 103 fewer than on Tuesday, and 18 related fatalities, while the number of hospitalizations has continued to go down for the second day in a row.

This is the second consecutive week to see the epidemiological situation calming down.

In the past 24 hours, 6,517 tests were conducted and 1,847 new infections were detected, 20% less than seven days ago. All the other epidemiological indicators are improving as well, as is the test positivity rate, which currently stands at 28.1%.

Currently, there are 963 Covid-19 patients in hospitals, including 259 in intensive care, eight fewer than on Tuesday.

The average daily number of new infections has dropped to 1,637, the number of active cases to 25,966 while the 14-day incidence has dropped to 1,232 per 100,000 population.

A total of 55.1% of the total population has been vaccinated while close to 330,000 people have received a booster dose.
