In the last 24 hours, Slovenian health authorities have reported only 24 new coronavirus infections, and, as all other indicators are very good as well, the government plans to declare an end to the epidemic on June 15.

Of 1,023 tests performed in the last 24 hours, 2.3 percent have returned positive. The seven-day average daily incidence has dropped to 147 and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 population has dropped to 130 new infections.

Two COVID-19 patients have died in the last 24 hours.

Since the start of the epidemic in the country, 4,406 people infected with the virus have died. There are still 134 COVID-19 patients in hospitals and 26.1% of the population has been fully immunised, the national public health institute said.

The government has said that it will not extend beyond 15 June the state of epidemic that was declared on 18 October, but some epidemiological restrictions will stay in force, including the obligatory wearing of face masks indoors and the obligation to have a negative test or a certificate of vaccination for attendance at concerts and similar events.
