Coronavirus: Serbia reports 2,965 new cases, 38 deaths

In the past 24 hours 2,965 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Serbia, out of 12,767 tests, as well as 38 Covid-19 deaths.

Currently 7,809 Covid patients are hospitalised, including 254 on ventilators. So far Serbia has confirmed 645,173 coronavirus cases and officially reported 5,773 Covid deaths.

Serbia has administered over 2.9 million vaccine doses and 950,000 people have received both, government official Mihajlo Jovanovic said, adding that 39,000 foreigners, with or without residence in Serbia, have also been vaccinated.

Today an additional 106,470 doses arrived in Belgrade and another 210,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine have been announced for next week. Serbia began a mass vaccination campaign on 21 December, administering Pfizer, Sputnik V, AstraZeneca and Sinopharm.

As of today, shopping centers may work again from 6am to 10pm, while bars and restaurants with outdoor seating may work at 50 percent capacity.

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said students would be able to return to school on 19 April.
