Coronavirus: Bosnia logs 100 new cases, 976 patients recover

Bosnia and Herzegovina reported 100 new cases of infection with the novel coronavirus alongside 18 fatalities among Covid-19 patients, healthcare authorities confirmed on Monday. Also, 976 patients have recovered.

The results came from 1,167 lab tests performed since the last update.

Despite the flattening curve, the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina are keeping the epidemiological measures in effect to contain the virus spread. Bosnia is still one of the rare countries in the region and Europe awaiting its first coronavirus vaccines to arrive and to start mass immunisation.

Bosnia’s Federation entity confirmed the total of 77,501 Covid-19 patients, of which 64,006 recovered to date. With 2,427 fatalities among Covid-19 patients, this part of the country now has 11,069 active cases.

As for Republika Srpska entity, its healthcare authorities recorded a total of 39,602 patients. To date, 2,013 died and 26,107 have recovered. Currently, 610 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised in this region.

Brcko District, a separate administrative unit, reported the total of 3,040 patients, with 2,492 recoveries and 153 fatal outcomes.

Bosnia’s coronavirus total stands at 120,143. The total of 92,605 patients have recovered and 4,593 died.
