President meets with young researchers from Rudjer Boskovic Institute

President Zoran Milanovic on Tuesday met with young researchers from the Rudjer Boskovic Institute (RBI) and RBI director David Matthew Smith on the occasion of the publication of results of their research that has provided a new insight into the behaviour of biofilm bacteria.

The RBI delegation, led by RBI director Smith, included research project head Tomislav Domazet-Loso, Momir Futo, Sara Koska and Nina Corak.

President Milanovic invited the RBI researchers to today’s meeting following the publication of the results of their research which brings a new insight into the behaviour of biofilm bacteria and shows that the research so far has underestimated the complexity of bacteria.

The findings of the research have been published in the renowned journal Molecular Biology and Evolution.

The RBI delegation informed the president of the course of their research and the significance of their findings, and they also discussed RBI’s work and plans to invest in new facilities and new, modern equipment.
