The father of 22-year-old Danijel Bezuk, who shot at the government building on Monday, wounding a policeman and later killing himself, was arrested on Tuesday for the possession of illegal weapons.

Sisak-Moslavina County police on Monday searched Bezuk’s home and other premises at three locations in the Kutina area, finding two rifles with optical sights and silencers as well as 1,169 pieces of ammunition in the family home in Kletiste, police said.

Police also took other evidence expected to shed light on the motives of the shooting in Zagreb.

After being interviewed by the police, Bezuk’s 59-year-old father was arrested for the illegal possession, making and procurement of weapons and explosives, and was taken into custody.
