The number of foreign cruise ships visiting Croatia's Adriatic coastline continued to rise over the first eleven months of 2019, the state statistics bureau reported on Thursday. From January to November 2019, 75 cruise ships visited Croatia's waters, bringing in more than 1.1 million visitors.

The numbers of passengers rose by 88,000 compared to the same period in 2018, up by 8.6 percent. In addition, the total number of days cruisers spent in Croatia also rose, by 5.1 percent, totalling 1,431 days.

The busiest seaport in terms of cruise ship visits was the walled city of Dubrovnik – which accounted for more than half of all visits – followed by the cities of Split and Zadar.

In November alone, there were 38 foreign ships on cruise in the Adriatic Sea, five more than in November 2018.
