According to preliminary and incomplete data, over 90 percent of teachers have refused the government offer of a pay rise, Nastavnici Organizirano, an association of teachers collecting data from the referendum on the government proposal, said on its website on Thursday.

Current data show that 2,704 primary and secondary school employees rejected the government’s offer, which is nearly 95 percent, while 155, or 6 percent, accepted it. The data also show that 1,523 of the teachers participating in the referendum voted in favour of continuing the strike, while 107, or slightly over 7 percent, voted against.

The primary and secondary school teachers’ unions, on strike for 34 days, announced earlier today that the voting would also be held on Friday and that the strike would continue on Friday.
