Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Damir Krsticevic said at a working meeting in Zemunik's military air base on Friday that unsoldierly conduct and actions by individuals are not the values of the Croatian Army and that undisciplined conduct needs to be punished.

Referring to a case at the Zemunik air base when a military helicopter was used to transport a civilian, a suspected arms smuggler, the Defence Ministry reported that Minister Krsticevic has convened an inquiry committee that will report on concrete measures to be taken to punish the individuals concerned in line with the chain of command.

“I expect the Croatian Army Main Staff to act in accordance with its powers regarding the issue of security and discipline and to submit a detailed report with concrete measures,” Krsticevic said in Zemunik.

Once the commission has completed its inquiry, the ministry will inform the public of the results.
