Education and Science Minister Blazenka Divjak said on Friday that children must go back to school, and called in the striking unions to consider the offers put at the negotiating table considering their demands.

“I am proposing solutions. I stand behind all that I have said.,” the minister said.

“At each our step we make we should have a clear aim: children should go back to school, and motivated teachers must work in schools,” she added.

Labour and Pension System Minister Josip Aladrovic said before the start of the government’s meeting today, that only agreement between the government and the striking unions, which have been conducting their industrial action for a month, could be a way out of the strike situation.
