After the payment of full wages for September, workers of the Djuro Djakovic group, who have been on strike for 24 days, will resume production on Tuesday, the striking committee's leader Ivan Baric told Hina on Monday.

The unionist said that the management of this Slavonski Brod-based metal and mechanical engineering group had also informed the striking workers that they had done all they could to ensure the payment of wages for September. A deadline for payment of salaries for October expires at 1500 hrs on 15 November. The union leaders are expected to decide on further steps next week in the event that the wages for October are not paid within the deadline.

Baric urged the government to help in efforts to find a bank that will be willing to provide the group with enough funds for the completion of the production of the group’s products for Germany and France.

Only 5 percent of the work remains to be done for the completion of those export deals, according to the unionist.
