Croatian and Korean companies have good potential for increasing cooperation in the cosmetics industry, said Korean Ambassador to Croatia Park Won-Sup at the sixth Korean-Croatian business forum, which was held in Zagreb on Wednesday.

The event, annually held in Zagreb since 2013, aims to promote business partnerships between business people of Korea and Croatia.

This year’s forum focused on boosting cooperation in the cosmetics industry, while the previous five were dedicated to energy, infrastructure, ICT, and tourism, Korean Ambassador said.

The Korean cosmetics industry had potential to enter the Croatian market, he said, adding that Korean tourists visiting Croatia had opportunities to use Croatian products from the same sector.

Zoran Horvat, head of the Croatian-Korean Business Club, said that bilateral economic relations between the two countries were growing stronger and stronger over the years, adding it was important to introduce direct Korean Air flights between Zagreb and Seoul as of September 1.

This would be conducive to efforts to increase the number of Koreans visiting Croatia, he said.

Last year, half a million guests from Korea arrived to Croatia.

The direct flight service, will also help strengthen the exchange between the two countries’ entrepreneurs, he said, adding he was pleased that Croatia’s embassy would open in Korea in October.
