The relations between Bosnia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are very good and will continue to improve and Bosnia can expect large investments, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, said on Tuesday.

As part of his official visit to Bosnia, Sultan bin Salman also visited the ‘King Fahd’ cultural centre in Sarajevo. He told reporters that he attended the opening of the centre in 2000 together with King Salman and that the King had instructed him to come back and check on the development of the relations.

Since he came here the first time, Bosnia has made significant progress, he said.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia considers Bosnia and Herzegovina to be a country with which it will always have a connection. The Bosnian people are courageous and militant, and the Kingdom is very happy to see people of different religions and nationalities living together,” he said.

Sultan bin Salman said he met with Bosniak member of the country’s tripartite Presidency, Bakir Izetbegovic, Prime Minister Denis Zvizdic, Minister of Civil Affairs, Adil Osmanovic and the Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, to discuss the strengthening of economic and cultural cooperation.

“We want to further develop economic and human ties between our two countries. We are happy that we can witness stability, coexistence and economic progress in Bosnia,” he said.

Investments were also discussed at the meeting, he said.

“We had long and fruitful conversations with Prime Minister Zvizdic and private and state investments can be expected,” he said.

The King Fahd centre plays a significant role in Bosnia and needs to be open to all nations and religions in Bosnia, respect the cultural heritage but also contribute to new culture, he said.

Sultan bin Saud was greeted by the director of the King Fahd centre, Alu Sejh, who said the visit was significant for Bosnia.

“We hope this visit will be the key that will open a good door in Bosnia,” Alu Sejh said.
