Commercial court in Zagreb confirmed government's appointment of Fabris Peruško to replace Ante Ramljak as crisis manager of the debt-ridden food company Agrokor on Wednesday (February 28).

Peruško previously served as member of the management board at Tisak, Agrokor’s newspaper retail company, in charge of finances and restructuring. Irena Weber, former advisor to Ramljak for non-core businesses and property management, was appointed as Peruško’s deputy.

After arriving at Agrokor headquarters, Peruško told reporters that reaching a debt agreement with Agrokor’s suppliers and creditors would be his top priority.

“In the next two or three days we will hold meetings with all groups of creditors. I will be more available for comments early next week, and you will get a bit more information from me by then,” Peruško told reporters. Agrokor employs around 60,000 people across southeast Europe and before its debt crisis started, its annual revenues stood at around 7 billion euros or almost 15 percent of Croatia’s national output.
