Seventy-four percent of employees at the Croatian Ministry of Health are immune to COVID-19 - 63% have been vaccinated and 11% have recovered from COVID, according to the latest data from a comprehensive survey of the employees, the ministry said on Friday.

The survey was conducted after an initial survey of those vaccinated against COVID-19 at the Ministry of Health showed a low vaccination rate among the employees.

According to the ministry, the data collected in the previous survey was incomplete due to the absence of a large number of employees, who were on holiday or absent for other reasons, and partly because employees did not provide the information in time.

Following a comprehensive survey, we have the opportunity to see the actual number of vaccinated employees and those who recovered from COVID-19, the Health Ministry said.

“We are thankful to the employees who have been vaccinated and who agreed to take part in the survey so that we could show the public the real picture of vaccination at the Ministry of Health. The high level of vaccination and acquired immunity of those who recovered from corona show awareness of the importance of vaccination against COVID-19,” said Health Minister Vili Beros.

He stressed that the ministry had encouraged all health institutions to organise lectures for their employees on the importance of vaccination, its effect on the protection of one’s own health and the health of others, as well as the need for joint action to effectively combat the infection.

Minister Beros added that lectures were also starting next week for employees at the Health Ministry.

“It is important that everyone takes part because only a fully secure system can offer protection to both patients and employees,” Beros stressed.
