Tourism revenues in the first quarter of 2018 totalled €450.2 million, up 14 percent on the year, the Tourism Ministry said on Friday.
The figures are a confirmation of the focus the public and private sectors are placing on competitive, year-round tourism, said Tourism Minster Gari Capellli.
"It's also proof that, by creating new, quality offers and, thereby, reasons for tourists to arrive outside the summer months, excellent results can be achieved quickly. This year almost €1 billion is being invested in tourism, which will certainly add momentum to destination development and, thereby, Croatia's economic growth," said Cappelli.
With this revenue, tourism accounted for 4 percent of GDP, up 0.2 percentage points from the first quarter of 2017.
