Serbian health authorities confirmed 54 new coronavirus cases in the country on Tuesday afternoon, bringing the total to 303, 21 of whom are in critical condition.

Of the 54 newly diagnosed patients, 27 have been admitted to hospital, Serbian Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar said at a news conference in Belgrade. The others were ordered to self-isolate in their homes.

The covid19.rs website set up to track information related to the coronavirus in Serbia, said that 94 people had been tested in the previous 24 hours.

To date, 15 patients have been discharged from hospital after having tested negative for the virus.

The first case of the novel coronavirus in Serbia was officially confirmed on March 6. Three people have died from the disease so far, a 59-year-old man, an 82-year-old woman, and a 60-year-old woman.
