The port authorities in four northern Adriatic counties - Cres, Crikvenica, Krk and Mali Losinj - are implementing five infrastructure projects financed from the EU Competitiveness and Cohesion Fund, whose total value exceeds HRK 222 million, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Prefect Zlatko Komadina said on Wednesday.

Komadina said that every port in the county was currently involved in some infrastructure project.

"The projects are worth between HRK 30 million (€4 m) and HRK 60 million (€8 m)and their total value is HRK 222 million (€30 m). We submitted them to the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure and they were all approved. This enormous financing is monitored by the Central Finance and Contracting Agency for EU projects (SAFU)," Komadina said.

The county organised a consultation together with SAFU to discuss preparations for the implementation of procurement procedures for the projects, with SAFU assistant director Ana Caric Perkovic explaining that the projects will be monitored from the point of their application on.
